Any idea on why do younger ppl prefer Fenders over Gibsons?

As a young person myself, I'd say I like both, but I found Gibsons to be too expensive and at times too weird-heavy.
Is it connected to the "disgust at boomer bends or boomer bands" or something?
What are they other reasons?
