I’m an incoming grade 12 student and want to study pharmacy in Uk people say its expensive there compared to ph, and that a lot of foreigners come to ph to study because it’s cheaper and have advanced education. But one thing that scares me is that paying so much in tuition to study in ph and barely making a minimum wage as a pharmacist. Here is my plan: to complete my studies as a SHS and go study Pharmacy’s in uk. It takes around 5 yrs to become pharmacist there, here’s the timeline, 1 yr foundation (if I didn’t meet the uk standards), 4 yr MPharm and 1 yr Paid training. But if
I stay and study here then go uk later it’s gonna take me all of my 20s, 4 yrs of bachelor, another 4yrs for Masters, a few months to prepare for OSPAP Conversion, then a 1 yr of training (either paid or not). So isn’t it better to study in uk than study here then go?
Also I know the cost of living is expensive especially around London area but I already have relatives in uk and I’m planning to stay there for 1-2 years then move out to save up some money. Then maybe I can dorm or live in a shared apartment to spilt the bills. Now, originally my sister was gonna go but she said she didnt want to because again, expensive, and now that i wanna go and i have told my mom my plan but she said again, its expensive and that i should just study in ph to save money but no offense, although the education is advanced, i think its B.S. because its about passing the subject and not ACTUALLY learning anything with the constant pressure, terror teachers, teaching style, unfair grading system, minor subjects that feels major, 7am-10pm classes, etc. I don’t think so. My sister (which is currently taking accountancy) researched some universities in uk and found this one university but it’s tuition was around 19k+ pounds, around 1.5 million in php, while the universities I have searched and the tuition is around 14-17K around 1 milion but that 14k is for the whole year not per semester, so 14k =7,500 which is around 600k in php. I might as well get a scholarship because I am in honors (90.22). What should I do guys??
