hey, i assume people in this sub would be smart to share some guidance for a student( i completed my undergrad commerce clg in 2025 and didn't sit for placements to follow some entrepreneurial aspirations; post college, joined a start-up(did it for 8 months, raised $125k, and left as didn't find the equity structures fair). i came back home around end of feb, and i had a few calls from startup accelerator programs but didn't convert, bad luck and took my march. april, i started finding some ease in reading, solving maths questions etc as i've always enjoyed studying. meantime, i did apply for some jobs but couldn't fulfil their req for masters/mba.
its 2nd may, i'm appearing for isi m.maths on 10th. however, my maths is not as strong as it takes to clear the exam. i just enjoy it so i do it, and anyways i had to visit the place to collect my books.
i've just completed an economics book - breakout nations, found it throughly interesting. however, my raw passion is maybe distracting me to focus on competitive examinations. i plan to appear for a finance exam in august. and in nov, i'm planning to appear for CAT. as my eco is strong, so appearing for cuet pg eco next year. and i wish to clear isi m.maths exam, not to join the institution but it was always in checklist to secure a rank in a hard maths exam. plus, i come from business family, and my parents did fairly well in their career. i did well in academia but maybe i could be one - talented but rash decision maker (low eq maybe. paid for the consequences too).
i've been studying finance(cfa) in morning. cat in afternoon. and pure maths - evening. (7am to 8pm, including breaks etc.). i'm bit concerned because of my varied interests, i may not be able to allocate my 100% to one aspect so i may end up missing all the buses.
could someone from his/her experience share some third persons persecutive or shed some light with brief explanation of any benefit around strategy for academia/life. i'll be truly grateful for the time and effort. thanks : )
myquals: tier 1 ug clg, and a bunch of finance exams etc.
