[Acne] Chest and body acne have cleared after years!!!

Hello, I have been a long time lurker of this sub. I‘m going to preface my post with informing you all that I suck at keeping a skin care routine (example below). Also, I know next to nothing about skincare. Though I surf this sub, I’m only familiar with a few terms. Idrk what skin type I am.

Now, here’s my background: my acne has been terrible for the past 8 years, it started on my face and was the worst there. Then my back and chest started about 5-6 years ago and I’ve struggled. Using my grandma’s mixture of turmeric and milk, my skin actually cleared up and brightened around 7 years ago. But she stayed with us briefly and once she left, I stopped using that method (I hated that I had to wait for the mixture to harden and wiping it off was annoying as well). Around 3 years ago, I went to see my dermatologist who gave me Adapalene benzoyl peroxide. It worked great for my face And decently well for my chest and back. Once I tolerated it, my doc upped the dosage so I’ve been on 1.25% or smth for the past 2 years I believe. But, he also told me to start putting it on my face alone in the morning. This was because even though the treatment was working, if I stopped for over 2 days, it came back and my skin was bumpy. It then takes owvr 2 weeks of consistent application in the nights to clear my face a bit. Over the past year, I’ve gotten more lazy so I stopped putting it on my chest and back. It was bleaching a lot of my cloghes. I got a ligjt blue shirt and it turned white! I should note that my chest and back acne never really got better.

I got fed up recently when this painful acne sprouted on my back (idk the terminology but it wasn’t pus, touching it hurt though). I hated that my chest and back acne was never going away so I remembered that I’ve seen a lot of people on this sub swear on neutrogena‘s body clear body wash. I have tried it for the past week. It has been AMAZING. It’s only been a week, but I haven’t seen my chest this clear in ages!!!

I have been using cerave foaming facial cleanser (previously used hydrating facial cleanser) in the mornings. But I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for face washes I could use? If I could get off the adapalene that would be great, it‘s very drying and I don’t like having to do an extra step after I shower at night. Oh and sometimes when I wake up my skin is very oily. but throughout the day when I touch it, it is dry. dunno if that’s because of the adapalene or not, but that could give a clue to my skin type.

TLDR: used neutrogena body clear for chest and back acne. It has helped a lot. Recommendations for face acne?
