After Polish rapper Bedoes released a diss track on cancer, 23-year-old TikToker Łatwogang, known for example for collaboration with Ed Sheeran, published a tiktok video claming that each like would mean 1 second of listening to said track on live stream. He got so many likes that it accumulated to 9 days of streaming. The live stream began on April 17 and started raising money for charity organization Cancer Fighters throuogh donations. Over time it evolved to be one of the biggest national events in Poland.
Łatwogang has invited many special guests to his appartment, including influencers, celebrities, musicians, actors, etc. As more people found out about this action and number of viewers rose to hundred thousands, more people started to donate, more guests came, more companies made huge donations, etc. Visits involve those celebrities getting tattoos saying JR (Polish acronym for F**k Cancer) or shaving their head bald. Even some famous woman went bald, including Blanka Lipińska, author of the rather infamous 365 days. Some year-long celebirty feuds got resolved during live transmition for this noble cause. And many also brought items to be auctioned after the stream.
Polish nation's united against cancer. Simple tiktok video evolved into something amazing. Only today we raised over 11 million dollars. And there's still 15 hours to go. I am so proud of everyone involved I had to share. I'm truly amazed by my people!
