25M here. I was dating this girl (24F) for about 10 months. We met at the beach, and since then we basically did everything together. She was a lovely person — kind to people, active, and fun to be around. One thing though: she didn’t really have friends at all.

Our relationship wasn’t perfect, but we always managed to work through things. At the time, both of us were unemployed, but eventually we each got jobs around the same time, just in different places. We started meeting during work breaks to hang out and eat together.

One day, she had a work event to attend. Knowing she had an eating disorder and would probably not eat anything during her shift, I decided to surprise her by bringing her a healthy homemade meal at the event.

That day, I noticed she was very close to one of her coworkers, a guy around our age. She ignored me almost the entire time while laughing and talking with him. Every time I tried to have a conversation with her, I got interrupted because she kept going back to him. He’s the type of guy who trains, socializes a lot, and is very confident. What bothered me was how physically comfortable and playful he was with her, knowing that if I acted the same way with another woman, she would’ve been furious.

At one point, I went to grab coffee for us, and when I came back, I found them standing very close to each other. As soon as she saw me, she immediately stepped away and went back to her place.

When we got home, I confronted her about how I felt. Instead of acknowledging it, she told me I was being insecure and that I didn’t trust her. She apologized “for making me feel that way,” but never really addressed the situation itself.

After that, the relationship slowly went downhill. Eventually, one night, she decided to end things.

Three weeks later, I was scrolling through Instagram and came across a photo of that coworker. It was clearly taken by her, and I saw that she had liked the post too. I instantly removed both of them from my socials because I realized keeping tabs on any of it was only messing with my head.
