Hey, I ordered a Camponotus fedtschenkoi queen recently, but unfortunately she arrived dead today. I was wondering — could I use her as protein for my Camponotus nicobarensis colony or maybe feed her to my spider? Has anyone here done something similar before? Do ants actually eat dead queens from other species or do they just throw them into the trash pile? She seems pretty fresh and doesn’t look moldy or infected or anything. I know queens have a lot of nutrient/fat reserves, so I thought maybe it wouldn’t go to waste.
