I am more of a lurker, and constantly check in on the community. I used to play this game a lot, and really want to come back, but with all the issues (majority technical), I've been sticking to other games.
One thing I've noticed a lot which completely boggles my mind, is the way some divers feel the need to defend the devs from doing things that would be their job. Whether it's bug fixing, or adding new systems like mech customization, there will always be several people saying something along the lines of "You can't expect them to be able to do that.", as if it's some sort of a defense rather than an insult.
As a consumer, spender, and player, I don't really care how hard it is to make a new UI. Take Warframe for example, another game I spend a lot of time on. If you suggest something, the community won't get defensive, and if it's a dev stream you may even get a "write that down" response from the developers. Even if it ultimately isn't added, there's a level of shared joy in the idea of new suggestions and content. You won't have someone fighting you in replies as if their life depends on it to explain how it's just not feasible to add new systems to an online game.
I do understand glazing. It's basic human thought to vehemently defend something you've put a lot of time into, but I seriously don't understand whatever this sort of "defense" is. Maybe it's horseshoe theory? You defend the dev's so hard that you end up infantilizing them and assume they can't do anything. I don't really know. Why do people do this?
