As the title suggests, I want to redesign my tank - replacing the gravel with sand, changing fake plants for real ones, adding wood and rocks etc but I don’t want to harm my fish in the process.

I have 10 small cardinal tetras in a 100 litre tank. Will it be safe to transfer some of the gravel, plants, filter and fish etc into a smaller 30 litre tank while I redesign my main tank, let it cycle for 6 weeks and then reintroduce the fish when the water is ready?
