My air compressor is completely melted and broken, so I will be driving around with no A/C until next Wednesday. This morning I made the mistake of remote starting the car, which then led to the air being blown at full blast for about 30 seconds before I got in the car and immediately turned it off. The ac button light wasn’t on, it was just blowing at full blast. I have to follow a rule to strictly not turn on the air, which was broken. I am very worried that it messed up something else under the hood in those 30 seconds.

Me and my boyfriend only see each other 1-2 times a week and I want to spend the entire day with him, but I can’t be at his house, what should we do for 7+hours so I can soak in every last second with him?

My 2020 Camaro has 95k miles and has had absolutely NO problems for 5 years, recently my air conditioner started blowing warmish/ lukewarm air out instead of cold air on the coldest setting. Looking on the dash it is telling me 0% Air filter. So me assuming that it is just that and nothing else I was planning on replacing the filter myself and moving on problem solved. I have also been getting terrible gas mileage and my gas burning VERY quick. So I ruled out that the filter was the issue.

This morning out of just safety and curiosity, I took it to my local Firestone mechanic shop before doing anything myself to the Camaro, just for a courtesy check. Firestone told me that the air conditioner does NOT work, and it needs a new air compressor, which then led them to quote me 2K Dollars for a filter change, air compressor change, and oil change as well. (I had been needing to get one). Me knowing nothing about cars and seeing the price of 2K, I declined the air compressor and I am only getting the filters and oil changed. I am also planning to take it to my local Chevrolet dealership to look at. I also know Firestone in my town to have a bad history of treating people bad and playing in their faces, which is why I said no to the compressor.

Should I continue my plan to let Firestone change the oil and filter, or should I just completely abandon them to get that done with the dealership or with another local mechanic? Any other advice and info would definitely help so please share and comment! This has been stressing me out!
