Inspect PSA 10s Before Buying
I recently bought a PSA 10 off eBay and it also came with authenticity guarantee. From my understanding with authenticity guarantee that they send the cards to PSA to authenticate before sending it to the buyer. Seeing how it was a PSA graded card and how it will be sent to authentication I didn’t think much of it before buying it. Biggest mistake ever. When I eventually got the card after it was authenticated I noticed a ding on side of the card. I thought I was seeing things since this was a PSA 10 until I went back to the listing, looked closer and saw it too. I then went on the PSA website to look up the cert and saw that ding wasn’t on there. But then I noticed the picture on the PSA website was of an old case and this card was in a new one. So my assumption right now is the owner of the original slab got it reslabbed, PSA damaged the card and the owner just never noticed. Nor did eBay’s authentication catch the issue with it. I basically have a messed up card in a PSA 10 slab now because I didn’t inspect it well enough before buying. FML.
Edit 1: Screw it here you go. I said it was a ding to make it more anonymous but I don't care anymore. It was surface issue on the back of the card. Look at the left and right of the Pokeball. It is not the slab case, it is very much on the card itself.
Edit 2: Turns out eBay doesn't show the sold listing unless you're the buyer. Here's the pics from the listing.
