I'm looking for a reylo fanfic I read last year on ao3 that I loved but sadly forgot to bookmark. I've been hunting through the bookmarks but no luck.

It's a historical AU, and I'm pretty sure it's set in Italy / based on the Medici family. Ben is part of the church, and unable to be in a romantic relationship, but falls in forbidden lust (then love) with Rey. Definitely explicit

I vividly remember a scene where Ben punishes himself for his feelings for her by whipping himself.

The author had a history or Latin degree and it showed in the writing.
