So my boyfriend (35M) has a pretty large company and I (27F) took a couple years off to help him out. He said I would be able to help him with his business. Anyways we now have been fighting quite a lot. The other day I asked him for his login to his accounting software so I could try and do some work for him (I have a degree in accounting and I’m very good at it). He said he doesn’t want me doing anything like that because it’s a lot of work to show me everything and doesn’t know if we will be together long basically. I told him that was hurtful and he said sorry but basically just doesn’t want to go through all that effort until the fighting stops.
Is it wrong for him to feel that way or is he valid in wanting to work on us before I get more involved in his business?
To me I’m just feeling pretty discouraged at this point and like he really doesn’t see this long term. He says he really loves me and wants things to get better between us which I do as well but it seems crazy to be withholding commitment like that.
Edit: he wanted me to quit my job and said I could work for him. It’s not that I didn’t have a good job or asked to work for him.
