Hi! I’m an architecture student working on my thesis about designing a healing and rehabilitation space for people affected by violence, conflict, displacement, and emotional trauma for women and community.
Before interviewing psychologists and mental health professionals, I also wanted to hear personal experiences and perspectives from people themselves regarding spaces and environments that feel therapeutic, comforting, or emotionally safe.
What kind of spaces or environments make you feel calm, safe, mentally at ease, or emotionally supported?
It could be:
• lighting
• silence/noise level
• privacy
• nature
• open vs enclosed spaces
• colors/materials
• places you go when overwhelmed
• what makes a space comforting or stressful
You don’t need professional knowledge or long answers. Even small personal insights or experiences would really help me better understand what questions and themes I should explore further with psychologists and mental health professionals.
Thank you so much 🤍
