Hi everyone, I need to vent about a surreal experience in Turin, Italy.
The Mess: I sent a 4kg return (Kenwood Mixer) via Poste Italiane (Office: Via Gaspare Spontini, 23, 10154 Torino). Tracking showed it was "departed," but instead of going to the warehouse, it was delivered back to my house!
The Sketchy Part: When the package arrived at my door, the shipping label had been completely removed. It’s as if they tried to hide the evidence of their routing mistake. How does a professional carrier deliver a package without a destination address?
Amazon's "Help": After hours of fighting with a chatbot and a scripted human agent:
- They refused to acknowledge it was a carrier error.
- They want to charge me €2.95 for a home pickup.
- They refused to provide a "Case ID" or any official confirmation of the conversation.
- The package even got slightly damaged due to this unnecessary back-and-forth.
I’ve already spent my time and energy carrying this heavy box to the post office once. Why should the customer pay for a massive logistics failure?
Has anyone dealt with Poste Italiane removing labels to cover their tracks? Any advice on how to get Amazon to waive this ridiculous fee?
