I’ve been thinking about Subaru’s connection to the Shadow Garden and how he seems to need all parts of his “soul” or “body” (the Witch Factors) to fully interact with Satella there. This made me wonder, how is Subaru actually supposed to obtain all the Witch Factors? The main issue is that much of the cast is strongly against killing the Archbishops of Gluttony, since doing so could prevent the restoration of stolen names and memories. Because of that, Subaru can’t realistically just kill every Witch Factor holder. So my question is: is it possible for Witch Factors to be transferred (either willingly or forcibly) without killing the current host? Or is killing them the only way we’ve seen so far?
