Please, sana po marinig ito ng government offices and decision makers.
I am humbly pleading na sana po huwag munang biglain ang discontinuance or non-renewal ng COS, JO, and contractual workers, especially ngayon na ang daming Filipino families are still struggling just to survive.
This is not just about contracts. This is not just about positions. This is livelihood. Kabuhayan po ito. May mga pamilyang umaasa dito araw-araw. May mga anak na pinapaaral, magulang na ginagamot, renta na binabayaran, pagkain na kailangang bilhin, utang na kailangang habulin, at araw-araw na gastos na hindi naman humihinto kahit mawalan ng trabaho ang isang tao.
We understand that the government wants to move away from contractual arrangements. Naiintindihan po namin iyon. We understand the goal of having a more stable and permanent workforce. Pero sana po, huwag naman sa paraan na biglaang mawawalan ng kabuhayan ang mga taong matagal nang tumutulong sa serbisyo publiko.
If the government cannot immediately absorb them, convert their positions, or give them permanent appointments, please, kahit hanggang end of the year man lang po sana. Kahit bigyan lang sila ng panahon para makahinga, makapaghanda, makahanap ng ibang trabaho, or makapag-apply sa permanent positions.
Ngayon po ay hindi madaling panahon. Mahal ang bilihin. Mahal ang pamasahe. Mahal ang gamot. Maraming pamilya ang halos sakto lang ang kinikita para makaraos. Ang biglaang pagkawala ng trabaho ay hindi lang inconvenience. Para sa marami, crisis po iyon sa loob ng bahay.
Please do not treat this as just an administrative adjustment. Please do not look at them as numbers in a list or contracts that can simply expire. These are real people. These are breadwinners. These are workers who served even without security of tenure, often with limited benefits, because they needed the work and because the offices also needed them.
Government reform should not leave the most vulnerable workers behind. Kung ang goal po ay ayusin ang sistema, sana po ang transition ay may malasakit. Sana hindi putol agad. Sana hindi biglaan. Sana hindi sa panahon na ang mga pamilya ay hirap na hirap na.
Please reconsider. Kahit hanggang matapos lang po ang taon. Kahit transition period lang po. Kahit pagkakataon lang para makabawi at makapaghanda.
Behind every COS, JO orcontractual worker is a family trying to survive.
Sana po, compassion muna. Livelihood muna. Families muna.
