Help please to determine witness lines on the guitar
Please, look the photos in comments!
Hello! I’m currently considering buying a guitar. This is how the seller described it:
“As for the wood — it has a neck-through construction with a three-piece maple neck for greater wood stability, a rosewood fretboard, and a mahogany body on the sides (it’s a Flying V).”
On the back of the guitar, in the photos he sent me, I noticed some strange witness lines, so I asked him about them. He replied:
‘These are not cracks, it’s just the paint shrinking along the glue joints because the woods are different (maple + mahogany), so the finish settled differently due to the different density and structure of the wood.’
However, when I look at the photos, I’m worried whether it could actually be the wood separating or something similar. It almost looks like the wood pieces are uneven, and in the center it even gives the impression of a slight bulge.
