I may not have built him correctly, or given him any sort armor once he became a monk, or bothered to learn how monks work, but Khelhar Ironfist did save my folly-full run.

This was my first time playing and I had made it to the final fight where I needed to destroy the statues surrounding the King of Shadows, so I had Khelgar relentless attack them while the rest of my part fought. I did not even bother controlling the other members of my party, I just was watching Khelgar punch. Even when he would only do 2 or 3 damage to the statue and other times do 20 something damage, I just kept him there.

By the time the statues were done, the rest of the party had fallen. I desperately had poor Khelgar running around in circles, sometimes punching the portal, then running back. But once the portal was broken and only the King of Shadows remained, I realized I may be doomed.

Khelgar ran into that little room to the side that you enter from, and the King of Shadows was pulled over there into that room with him. I thought it was over. But then, for some reason, Ammon Jerro got back up. I didn't build him either.

Ammon started searching the bodies of my fallen companions while Khelgar was still fighting and found one scroll of resurrection. This was an incredibly lucky find because I typically sell all my scrolls.

With that scroll he picked, he was able to resurrect my Knight-Captain, and together went to help Khelgar who actually managed to stay relatively unscathed while also having brought the King of Shadows to half health.

The King of Shadows fell, the day was won. Thank you Khelgar Ironfist. And Ammon Jerro but he had a lot to make up for so maybe a little less thanks for him.
