A&P I pre-req

Hey all, I am considering applying to the program and was looking into the pre-requisites I need to take. I then noticed it says biology with a lab is required before being able to take A&P I or a regents exam score of 85 or better. I’m an adult learner, I graduated high school in 2015. I don’t remember my regents score and while I did take biology in my other college degree, it did not have a lab. Did anyone here have to take the biology class before being able to take a&p ? Or is there another way to satisfy this requirement ? I also have already completed both A&P I & II but it was more than 5 years ago so I have to retake.

ABSN program as a mother ?

I currently hold a bachelors in human services management, however I was originally a nursing major and completed 1.5 years of the program. I only switched majors because we needed a C+ in clinical and I got a C, which meant I would have to wait an entire year to retake it which I didn’t want to do. Now, it’s been about 10 years since then, and I am thinking about starting an ABSN program but I am nervous. I am now a mother of 3, and while I have a moderate level of support from family, and all of my kids are in elementary school, I still hold a large majority of the responsibilities between the kids and household. Nursing school as a 4 year program without kids was already a difficult program for me (hence failing my clinical) , so I’m worried about how much harder a 12-16 month program while being a mother would be. I would not have to work though, as my husband has been the primary financial support. So that would be a little weight off my shoulders. For anyone else in a similar position, how well did you manage? Especially if you’re not particularly “good” at school/test taking?

My other worry is, all the programs require a lot of prerequisites. Which I have completed a majority of them already but with them having been taken 10-11 years ago, I see there’s a good majority of colleges that won’t accept them anymore. The thing that was easing my mind about this program was knowing I wouldn’t have to retake things like A&P. Does anyone know of a ABSN program that doesn’t have an expiration on these pre-reqs? (I am in NYC).

Any and all other advice or feedback is much appreciated. Thank you!

Considering an ABSN program but have some questions

Mixed kids being raised primarily with white side

Hey all, so I have 3 kids who are half black/half white. I am white, their dad is black. However, outside of their father, they have no relationship with any of his side of the family. His mother passed when he was young, his dad was never really involved, and the only other family nearby is his grandmother who he has a troubled relationship with so we haven’t seen her in about 4 years. My kids know none of their black family. This bothers me because I want them to grow up knowing both sides of their race. My family is heavily involved so they are growing up only knowing the white side of them. How can I help them to understand/accept and love their black side when they don’t see any of them? Is there anything I can do as the white parent to get them more in touch with their black side?

Is this typical bajan results?

My husband’s always believed his dad to be 100% Bajan, his family came to the US when his dad was little. We both did 23andme and he said he’s confused by his results, he was expecting it to actually show Bajan. He’s now wanting to know is he actually half Bajan or not. Is anyone able to interpret these results?

I replaced my iPhone 13 Pro Max screen myself using a kit from Amazon. I knew the quality wouldn’t be good but I only needed the screen replaced to be able to back up the phone to keep my photos since I got a new phone so I didn’t care about quality just ability to do the backup. i followed all the steps in replacing the screen, felt like I did everything correctly. I took my time and went slow. When I turned it on afterwards , everything seemed to be working fine. I went to go start the backup and the phone randomly turned off and then rebooted. It keeps doing this every 3 minutes or so. What did I do wrong in the screen replacement process and how can I fix it now? I just need it to work long enough to complete the backup. TIA.

So my iPhone (iPhone 13 Pro Max) got water damage and now the left half of the screen is unresponsive. I was planning to get a new phone sometime anyway so instead of trying to get it fixed I just bought a new iPhone. However, my old iPhone wasn't backed up. I have tried everything to get it backed up without fixing it, but nothing is working. So now I'm looking into getting the screen replaced just to be able to back it up and get all of my photos. My question is, if I set up my new iPhone prior to getting my old phone backed up, will I still be able to get all of the backed up data onto my new iPhone? or do I need to wait to set up my new iPhone until after ive already backed up my old phone?
