Gold 2 player here. 150 hours into the game, half as French and Byzantine each. Having a specific problem with French; I have no idea what to do if the opponent successfully repels any and all my attempts at pressure in feudal age. How to sit back and scale up? What does that involve, specifically? So far all my victories can be attributed to opponent succumbing to my knights due to various reasons, mostly their inability to defend (we're learning all the time).

Would love some detailed tips. Thanks in advance.
