I was watching an Instagram video of someone throwing together a "detox" tea, kind of just tossing ingredients into a cup and muddling them before adding hot water. She goes to cut this knob of ginger and the state of the cleaver she had... I howled at the gouges and chunks missing.

So here's my question; if presented with this cleaver to reprofile and sharpen, would the labor put into the repair be worth keeping or just to buy another? Personally, I would like the challenge and it seems like there's a lot of steel to work with but I'm wondering if you'd have to take away too much for it to have the weight to still be a working cleaver and not a veggie cleaver?
