I was just curious because none of the dwarf hamsters I ve had were burrowers at all. They just preferred the hides. But I recently got my first syrian and she burrows so much. Is it just my experience?

I ve adopted all my dwarf hamsters at 6 months or older of age but this syrian is very young so could it be that the others lost their ability to burrow since they all were in very neglectfull environments with no bedding before.

Edit: From the comments I see that it was just the personalities of my hamsters and not the species.

She was 5-6 months old when I got her and was in terrible conditions (cage smaller than a critter nation, 4 inch wheel, constant bar biting and climbing). The other photos are her current cage + how she looks now. She is 1 year and a month old and isnt stressed like before.

The problems start with her always running with a hunched back. The wheel is appropriate and her back doesnt bend while running so idk why she runs like that she used to run straight before. Also with time I noticed new behaviours that looks like neurological issues. Losing balance and falling sometimes, weird movement, looking up quite a lot. I also noticed that her coat colour changed from light brown to grayish.

We went to the vet before for an eye infection and hair falling out + itchyness after we got her. She has been fine for a long time now so I assumed it was sickness from the stress she was in before I got her. I dont think she has aged enough to be affected by old age so I dont know what happened to her that caused her to act this way with the behaviour, hunched running etc.
