Update and explanation

Regarding my previous post about my Fort 3 one year and 2 month update

Okay so theirs been some confusion about wether I have a underbite still or not and the answer is nuanced

Yes I do have all my upper teeth except for my premolars and one of my mollars on the left side hence why it looks like in the xray I don’t have many teeth, this issue is also compounded by my teeth being very flat against the roof of my mouth although I’m getting braces very soon (next month) to rectify that issue

Regarding the bite disparity;
My jaw bone is significantly angled upwards which makes it appear worse in reality it’s a 5-10mm difference which is miles better then the 2-5cm difference I had previously when I had no jaw bone at all pre-lefort 3

Now I’ve also seen concerns about my maxilla and I’ll answers those now as well:
I just had my entire forehead and both hips turned into my top jaw bone, cheek bone reconstruction and nasal reconstruction will occur when we do the follow up operation to adjust the top jaws upwards angularity it developed during recovery into its flat alignment as well as adjust for any left to right alignment issues (it’s hard to tell but with my teeth how they are currently both my back most mollars and my canines align properly it’s just the teeth need to be pulled forward and downwards)

I’ll get that follow up surgery once I’ve had braces for 6-18months depending how my jaw and teeth hold up to braces

Then for that surgery they will take more hip bone and more cranial bone to fill in the holes in my maxilla

I have a photo of me, hopefully a better one then last time (I had recently had a injury prior to that photo)

And the most recent xray from
January

Then incase any of yall wanna doubt my doctors assements further since im pulling directly from the medical plan notes on MyChop

That’s Doctor Jessie Taylor my surgeon who has literally saved my live and also revolutionized craniofacial surgeries for those with cleft pallet and cleft lip like me who were born without most of our facial bones and or had those bones absorb into our bodies because of our conditions (in my case it was both)

How not to treat others

Just gona call someone from this community out here because it’s very strange

This was in April 5th
Well before my most recent update I posted a few days ago

I’m going to presume this individual is a looksmaxer because idk about any of yall but Lefort 3 is NOT a surgery you should “want”

But also: someone else getting a surgery you need DOESNT STOP YOU FROM GETTING IT AS WELL

I see that type of comment frequently and it’s simply not true unless you live in a country where resources are that tightly constricted that they only do one or two craniofacial surgeries a year in which case you’ve probably got bigger issues realistically to worry about

1 year 2 months follow up to my Lefort 3

In March of 2025 I had my Lefort three to reconstruct my entire jaw and I recently had my roughly “1 year” follow up after it had to be rescheduled due to a minor issue related to my insurance through work never updating that I moved states (is fixed now and it’s the exact same coverage so it was just bureaucracy being bureaucracy)

I have to say more and more I think it was worth the literal headache to get the Lefort 3, as even though it still feels bizarre to have my top and bottom teeth touching I’m able to eat so much quicker and with less pain and struggle. I’ve also been told I talk more clearly now as well.

The next step for me is braces now that they have determined my top jaw has infact healed without issues (as determined from my January X-rays, don’t have my May X-rays but was told they look phenomenal!) and I can’t wait to see my final results!
