My local group have stayed with 2nd ed, and have decided to tweak the damage table to make vehicles a bit tougher. Literally changed it from 1D6 to 2D6
Landraiders are no longer getting 1 shotted, and instead being stripped of hull points to take them out. Rhinos are less of a deathtrap, though still made of foil etc
So far it seems to have the desired effect. Playtesting will continue. Im amazed that over the past 10yrs of 6th ed 40k through to 2nd ed heresy, none of the testing came up with this.
