today i'm just done after a friend came over and made a polite but awkward comment about the "cat smell" in the living room. thinking the apartment was actually clean until that moment, but the reality is that the litter dust and hair are just trapped in every rug and corner.

maybe it's this cheap vacuum i keep on buying over and over so i need to find something that actually handles the fine dander and that lingering odour without the machine clogging up every five minutes. really needing some advice or a hug because it's so embarassing at this point. how are you guys getting the deep-seated hair out of the carpet without injuring yourself?

Got the call last thursday. he's retiring, doesn't want to deal with selling on the open market, and because i've been a good tenant he's offering it to me first at a price that is genuinely fair, maybe even a little below what it should be. i've always wanted to own a place and this feels like the closest i'll get to a realistic shot at it.

Told my parents expecting them to be excited. my mom immediately said the area is going downhill and my uncle started talking about property values like he's been tracking them personally. the neighborhood has changed a bit, new people moving in, a few businesses closed. but i actually like living here and i know the building.

The thing is i don't know if they're seeing something i'm not because i'm too attached to the place, or if they're just being the way they always are about that area. And genuinely I like my neighborhood and all that. It's a pretty solid deal and I've checked all legalities with my lawyer friend.
