I was just accepted into Purdue off of the waitlist and am weighing it against my decision from RD, Colby College. I want to study mechanical engineering and would do so at Colby through their Dartmouth/Columbia 3+2 programs (would rather do Dartmouth out of the two). In my time at Colby I would study Physics with a concentration in astrophysics. I really love Colby and can see myself there. I love the outdoors, skiing, hiking, etc., love New England and would like to live there once I graduate, and am very comfortable with a small class size (my high school was 130 per grade). With all of that being said. Purdue is a top 10 engineering school and has more resources with engineering, on top of that, I would be doing engineering from the get go and would graduate in 4 years. Also, I understand that the 3+2 program is not guaranteed but I am very determined and am confident that I could get in based on the conversation I had with the head of the program at Colby. What do you think and what should I be thinking about while I weigh this decision?
