So, my gas was turned off today for nonpayment. The total bill is about $1700. I lost my job in January and so things are running skinny around the old homestead the past few months.

We have a law in Minnesota that gas cannot be turned off during cold weather months, and I guess I hadn’t paid it since September.

I’m admittedly very scatterbrained, I’d had the gas bill set up on auto payment from my checking account Last fall I had a bank account breach, and had to close down my old checking and savings accounts and start new accounts, and I forgot to

I’m extremely fortunate that I have land I can sell in North Dakota. I signed the docs a week ago, and was promised an earnest money payment of $10k within ten days. So this isn’t a catastrophe. I’ll be able to pay the bill by next week.

I had the presence of mind that I should use the water in the water heater while it was still hot, and took a shower. Probably the only one I’ll take this week, but that’s okay.

I honestly don’t really have anyone in my life I can talk to about this, I guess that’s why I’m posting here. Please be kind.
