I have just recently gotten back into SFM and I just created two pieces that I'll be using as wallpapers for my new gaming PC. They represent the games Left 4 Dead 2 and Team Fortress 2.

What I want feedback on is any lighting suggestions for these wallpapers, especially the TF2 one. I know I can do better with the lighting there other than backlights from the fireworks, but I just don't know what. The map I used for the TF2 one is ctf_doublecross

The L4D2 one I'm actually proud of, but feedback would be great nonetheless.

I'm currently saving up money for a new gaming PC, and I intend to have it running in 1440p aka 2K (2560x1440).

The thing is, when I searched for whether rending in SFM in 1440p is possible, I found responses that said render it in 4K then use an image/photo editing program to scale it down to 1440p.

Because I don't intend to run in 4K any time soon, if I choose to go with rendering it in 4K then scaling it down in a image/photo editing program, will SFM running at 1080p run into any problems when rendering in 4K? I don't want to make the upgrade to 4K just so that I can render in SFM with no problems.

And yes, I do know that you can change the render resolution using a command line in the launch parameters. But the responses also said to do it when you're ready to render to avoid any lagging and slowdown problems while creating the image.

I've been looking at getting a Mortal Kombat game for my PC. However, the only ones that Steam has are X, 11, 1 and the Legacy Collection.

I'm a casual fan of MK. I do know about the characters, the worlds and the lore, but in terms of actually playing the games, I haven't done a lot of it. If any of the aforementioned games on Steam is great for a beginner, it would be greatly appreciated.

I did check GOG.com, but the only ones they have are 1+2+3, 4 and Trilogy. I'm also not going for Injustice 2 for the simple reason that it's not my favourite interpretation of the DC Comics world.

I was thinking of getting the Legacy Collection, but I'm not sure if it's still considered not the best one to play now. If that is the case, which of the other ones should I go for?
