Happened at a different depot than my normal one.
Asked the manager before I left as to what to do with any work that cannot be done and what time they close.
Manager says 6:30PM
All good.
Came back 6:10PM and see someone in a truck and staff member at the depot entrance door.
Couldn’t park inside as no space so went outside and bought letters and parcels inside.
Depot entrance door was now locked with only truck driver.
Asked him if anyone was inside which he confirmed.
I knocked and waited and rung the bell for minutes with no answer.
Decided to take stuff to my own depot.
Realised that I GOT LOCKED INSIDE AND THE MAIN VEHICLE AND MAIN NORMAL ENTRANCE WAS CHAINED UP.
I HAD LEFT MY PHONE IN THE CAR.
FOR 10 MINUTES I WAS FREAKING OUT BECAUSE NO ONE COULD HELP ME.
Realised I might be able to climb gate.
Through parcel over and letters under and successfully did that.
Started tweaking out post-incident.
Will never wish to go to that depot again and am considering leaving this job because of how many stories on a same level of stupidity have happened like this.
Also I am wondering what can I do about this? like actually.
