Helping a friend stuck in a support loop: Unfairly banned, Discord bot demands App appeal, but the app is locked.
Hey everyone, I’m posting this on behalf of a friend who is stuck in a total deadlock with Discord support and I wanted to see if anyone has advice.
My friend’s account was banned over a satirical image—clearly meant as humor and definitely not violating any safety or minor-related policies. It’s frustrating because we see gore, racist, and pornographic GIFs all over the platform that never get flagged, but he gets a permanent ban for a meme.
Here is why it’s getting ridiculous:
- The Nitro Trap: He paid for Nitro twice in one week. First on his main account, then on a second one after the first ban, only to have the second one banned for "evasion" almost immediately. He’s literally being charged for a service he can’t use.
- The Broken Appeal System: When he emails support, a bot replies saying he MUST appeal through the Discord App to provide "context".
- The Locked Screen: The problem is he can't. When he opens the app, he is stuck on a static "Account Suspended" screen that doesn't allow him to submit a form or click anything.
Discord basically took his money twice and then gave him a set of instructions that are technically impossible to follow because of the ban itself.
Has anyone here dealt with this "App Appeal" loop when the app is totally unresponsive? Any way to get a real human to look at the ticket instead of getting the same automated bot response over and over? He’s considering a bank chargeback at this point.
Any help is appreciated!
