In past years, when I switched from heating to cooling, I've had some of my Senville mini splits start dripping water down my wall and it turned out the drains were plugged up and had to be vacuumed.

I've read, including in Senville's own materials, that you should test the drain by pouring water into the drain pan. I'm wondering how I'm supposed to do this. I don't see any way to access the drain pan. I installed these units myself so I'm pretty familiar with how they're assembled.

Is it OK to pour water right at the top where the filter is? I assume water usually drips off the coils below so that's exactly where water would come from but obviously I don't want to get any water into the electronics.
