Got my Revolut account temporarily restricted after receiving a transfer and I’m trying to understand how serious this is.

Timeline:
- Yesterday around 7 PM I received a transfer (~1000 RON)
- Today at 9 AM Revolut requested information/documents about the payment
- Around 10 AM I submitted everything they asked for
- Shortly after that, I received an email saying the payment verification failed and the funds would be returned to the sender
- Then I received another email saying my account is under a routine security review and they aim to finish within 5 days

What confuses me is that this already happened to me once before:
Revolut previously asked for a return of funds / verification on another payment, but after review the money stayed in my account and I passed the check successfully.

Right now my account is still restricted.

I’m trying to understand:
- Is returning the funds automatically a bad sign?
- Or do they sometimes return the payment but still fully restore the account afterward?
- Has anyone had a similar experience where Revolut said “5 days” and then unlocked the account?

I’d appreciate hearing from people who actually went through this process.[RO]
