just finished a second procedure at FUECAPILAR in Istanbul.
My Case Stats:
Round 1: 2,850 Grafts with Dr. Gur (Manual FUE). Success was 10/10.
Round 2: 2,365 Grafts with Dr. Turan (DHI) for mid-scalp and crown.
The Observation:
During the surgery, I noticed a significant amount of hair fragments and follicles falling onto the table cover/paper while the technicians were loading the DHI pens for Dr. Turan.
My Concerns:
Wastage vs. QC: Is it normal in Turan’s DHI workflow to see this level of 'debris' on the drapes? Does this represent intentional quality control (discarding non-viable grafts), or was it likely healthy graft wastage?
Donor Management: Since this is my second pass (totaling over 5,200 grafts now), I’m worried about unnecessary over-harvesting if the loading phase was sloppy.
I’ve attached photos of the recipient work and my donor area (Day 8 post-op). I'd appreciate feedback from the veterans here—specifically those who have been to Turan—on whether this extraction pattern looks sustainable and if my observation about the loading phase is a known part of their protocol.
Thanks for the help.
I received 2,356 grafts mainly in crown and some mid scalp.
I lightly rubbed swirl part of crown on the ceiling of the taxi when getting out at day 2 and half after surgery. I noticed a very tiny bit of blood. I'm confused if that means the graft is dead completely now or it has to come out to be dead?
I sent picture to doctor as it was weekend and he said only few grafts seem to be dislodged. Not sure how he can tell by just looking at the picture.
Lightly rubbed my head getting out of a taxi 3 days after transplant.
Very small bleeding that stopped quickly. No grafts seen coming out.
First pics are right after, last pic is a few hours later (now just a small scab).
Does this look like graft loss?
