Need help with daily macros
I've been reading some posts in this forum about general nutrition and macros and realized I had no clue where I stand. Someone recommended an app (MyFitnessPal) which I downloaded to get a rough idea.
I logged a few days and something that is apparently obvious is I seem to be eating WAY less than I should be (~2k/day). I'm currently around 170 lbs, mid 40s and workout 3-4 days a week. The app suggested a goal around 2.6k with a rough split of 50/30/20 for carbs, fat and protein. Do these calories and rough macro splits sound reasonable?
Another thing I think I realized is my carb intake may be way load. I'm currently sitting at 20/40/40 for my current carb, fat, protein for the day. Its funny because I've always done Keto like diets in the past so I'm just accustomed to not eating many carbs. If I'm looking to add some muscle I'm guessing I should change this habit?
I think this is why I haven't seen the gains I was hoping in regards to strength + muscle growth despite training decently hard 🤷♂️
