Hi everyone,

I’ve always been a heavy teeth-grinder, and I got a mouthguard when I was about 15, but by then the damage had already been done.

Several dentists have told me that the black spots on my molars are just discoloration and that I should keep an eye on them but don’t need to treat them yet. I also have some mild sensitivity in certain areas.

I’m only 38 right now, and I’m really ashamed of my teeth, even though I can’t do much about their condition myself. I brush twice a day and use dental floss as well as a water flosser.

Am I at risk of losing teeth as I get older, or are these mostly cosmetic issues? The dentists have told me so far that my teeth (aside from the wear and tear) are healthy.
