The folk punk genre seems to be littered with bands that take their influence from emo music, not punk music. I have little tolerance for emo vocals. So, is there any actual folk punk music? Or just folk music with a gritty vocalist?
The closest thing I can come up with is Angels of Light. Or even The Tallest Man on Earth verges on shouting in some of his songs, and I like that.
The most ideal thing would basically be Angels of Light but with fingerpicking instead of chord strumming.
