To preface, I was diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder a long time ago. I was on SSRI’s for a very long time along with other anxiety medication. I’ve been off of these medication‘s for over a year.
One of the major symptoms of this disorder is unrelenting intrusive thoughts. It’s like having someone sitting on your shoulder constantly saying the worst things imaginable to you about yourself and everything you do.
I am a long time psychedelics user. I’ve had heroic psilocybin trips which did amazing things for my depression and I’ve used LSD quite a bit.
Nothing prepared me for 5-MeO-DMT.
I only remember fragments from the trip, but I scared my friends because I screamed throughout as reality dissolved and I was blasted through.
It seems pretty clear from the video evidence that I experienced a major somatic trauma release. Needless to say, this was quite a harrowing and terrifying experience as I went through it.
After this experience, my mind is quiet for the first time that I can remember.
It has been weeks now, and the intrusive thoughts have not returned.
DMT is life-changing medicine.
I’ve considered using it again, but I hesitate. First of all, it was a really scary experience, but the change in me is so profound thatI won’t take for granted the healing it has facilitated.
