First Credit Card, looking for advice

Hi everyone,

Looking for some advice. For context,

  • Earn around 80k (not including super)
  • Spend around $200 a week on groceries, exercise/entertainment
  • Travel once a year
  • No debt other than HECS
  • Relatively disciplined with finances

I'm currently weighing up between the following three options

  1. Qantas Money Platnium (80k + 40k points, $349 fee)
  2. NAB Qantas Rewards Signature (100k +30k points, $420 fee with $250 cashback)
  3. ANZ Frequent Flyer Black (90k +40k, $425 with $200 cashback)

I'm leaning towards the Qantas Money Platnium but have seen a lot of negative csomments and posts about it. I also see a lot of people suggesting AMEX, however I've excluded from the list as they've recently reduced their sign on to 50k points.

My questions are

  • What options would you recommend?
  • Is it even worth staying the whole year for the 30 or 40k bonus?
  • Is there anything about credit cards I should know?

TIA
