Stormlord’s Guantlets. Magic Item for My Goliath Fighter Player

Looking for ideas and criticisms on this item for my Storm Goliath eldritch knight fighter. Any balance tips? Here’s the plain text.

Stormlord’s Gauntlets

Very Rare, Wonderous
(Requires attunement by a Goliath)

These simple steel gauntlets each bear a blue thunderbolt. While attuned to these gauntlets you are resistant to Lightning and Thunder damage. Additionally you regain a use of your Goliath Large Form feature after a short rest and the feature is altered in the following way.

Large Form. While in Large Form any weapon you are holding ignores the two-handed property and gains the light property. Allowing you to, for example, dual wield a greataxe and a greatsword and make an additional attack with one as a bonus action. While in this form you do not add your Strength modifier to damage rolls you make with bonus action attacks unless you have a feature that says you do.

Additionally while in this form you may cast Lightning Bolt.(DC 16) Once you do so your Large Form immediately ends.

Edit: idk why I keep misspelling gauntlet.

Eldritch Lich Minions?

I’m using an eldritch lich as one of the bbegs of my campaign. However I’m having the worm be a member of a race of powerful psionic worms that use psionics to control masses and bend reality. So it’s a little more aberrant than undead.

The lich has taken control over thousands of minions over hundreds of years and controls “Hivebarges” as flying vessels. Basically meteors that fly via psionics. The majority of their army was captured from a world with mostly crustacean, insectoid and aberrant life. Chuuls, thrikreen, grick, roper, etc.

I’m looking for more minions and also higher CR commanders that they could use. I was considering Aboleth as a common commander the lich uses but Aboleth were heavily present in my previous campaign and I’m slightly adverse to using them. Any ideas?

Aberrant/Alien Items?

My players are exploring an astroid controlled by a faction tied to the far realms. Any items that feel alien, weird, or aberrant? I have both books on dndbeyond but failing to find good matches.

What’s your opinion on giving players some form of map of the dungeon they are in? I try to be clear and concise when describing the environment and location however it still leads to some confusion or furrowed brow confusion. What if I gave them just a map of the dungeon with redacted secrets/obvious danger? In the past I’ve taken a picture of the map and covered portions of the map. However that’s slow and clunky.
