Are there unwritten parking lot etiquette outside of common sense I don't know about?

The wife and I just finished our weekly run. We also got hotdogs and slices of pizza with the intention to eat when we got home. However, once we got in the car (still parked in our spot), we felt hungry already and decided to just sit and eat in the car before going home.

About 5 minutes after we started eating, a woman came and knocked on the driver window. She asked if we were leaving, we said 'yeah after we're done eating'. Then she raised her voice and basically said we were not supposed to eat in the parking lot and occupy a spot. Apparently she saw us loading our car and had been waiting for us to pull out (we had no idea, never saw her waiting in the row).

I didn't want to get into an argument, so I rolled up my window and disengaged with her completely. I also gestured to my wife pointing at our front and back dash cams just so the woman would see them too.

We finished our food, maybe a bit slower than usual.

Did we violate any ancient unwritten rules about not parking and eating Costco food in the Costco parking lot?
