Why aren’t more people talking about a Kelly/Beshear Ticket?

I have no idea why the DNC hasn’t figured this out. Easiest formula ever: pick candidates that are from swing states and it’ll shred any chance your opponent has at winning the map. Instead they push candidates from solid blue states.

Mark Kelly has massive cool factor: military service + being an astronaut. He has ties to AIPAC, but I’m certain he’ll reverse his position (as any dem candidate will likely do in 2028). He’ll also probably tilt more progressive as an executive if he runs, but won’t dive in headfirst, letting the legislature push that agenda.

Beshear is a moderate, and is the Democratic governor of a southern MAGA State. Together he and Kelly put together a strong, iron-clad campaign that has little weak-points or scandals.

Would love people’s thoughts on this as I personally see this ticket as a no brainer.

Genuinely wondering… Why is everything permit parking?

Why is permit parking so overwhelmingly dominant in Cambridge?

I get the need to protect residential streets, but at a certain point it creates real problems for people who work, shop, visit friends, go to appointments, or support businesses in the city. Cambridge invests heavily in sustainable infrastructure, transit, walkability, bike lanes, mixed-use development, etc., yet large portions of public curb space are effectively reserved almost exclusively for residents.

It feels contradictory to encourage regional access and economic activity while making short-term parking for outsiders extremely difficult. Residents already benefit from dense transit access and alternative transportation options. Wouldn’t it make more sense to re-appropriate at least some curb space toward visitor parking, short-term parking, or business access instead of locking down so much of it for permit holders only?

Curious how residents feel about this.
