But then proceeds to win both Liga and CL, with 2 losses (both from the same team). Tweaked the formation turn said CM into a goal scoring false 9. The entire Madrid attack was prolific that season, Vini, Jude, Rodrygo, Brahim and Joselu all score 10+ goals each.
But in true ungrateful Madrid fashion, we must always chase new toys and these new toys were Mbappe and Xabi Alonso. So instead of giving the keys to Ancelotti and giving all the needed reinforcements to compensate for Joselu, Kroos and Nacho departures, plus other positions. We threw him to the wolves by not reinforcing the defense and forcing a turtle we never needed.
I'll die on that hill. If 24/25 we get transfers like :
- Muriqui or Budimir for Joselu
- Zubimendi to replace Kroos
- Bastoni for Nacho
- Frimpong for RB
- maybe Carreras and Huijsen earlier
We win the league again AND we make at least semis in the CL, because with an actual coherent squad Arsenal does not beat us.
But nah, we had to shit on the hands that fed us, call him a clueless dinosaur and kick him out to bring shiny new kid on the block, who clearly was not ready for the job. We didn't know how good we had it, and now it's gone.
