So, im terminally ill, and because of that I wanted to buy my mom a Laptop that would last her a long time, be somewhat future proof for most things, and fullfill all her needs, because I know that she'd never spent this kind of money on herself and she needs it.
We also dont have any larger Oled devices, and she watches her Turkish soap operas on her phone because my stepdad hogs the TV, so I decided to buy her the Lenovo Yoga 7 16 inch, 2 in 1, 32GB, 2,8k, Oled, 258v laptop for 1399€
it arrived today and it has been an absolute mess. My Imac 2013 lasted 12 years and it seems that this laptop broke on day one, lmao.
- First problem I ran into was a constant flickering, every 5-20 minutes for about 10-15 seconds , sometimes longer, sometimes shorter. I'm not that smart when it comes to Computers but I'm scared it has to do with the igpu ?, for the last 6-7 hours it has been stable, after I did some updates in Lenovo Vantage
- The Sound seems to mainly come from the left side and it sucks, I compared it to my xiomi pad 7 and that one sounds better, but it only costs 220€, also, dolby atmos appeared after the update and it sounds better but still...
- The wifi is not working properly, every 5 minutes it stops working for a minute or two, while other devices of mine still work perfectly fine.
Before the updates, HDR content after enabling it looked super bright, washed out even, now colors look brighter and fuller when i disable HDR.
I downloaded the calibrator but even that doesn't seem to work, I can adjust the first image that shows up, but every following image wont be affected by me moving the slider.
- I also don't know why I thought my mom could use this as a tablet, it's freaking huge, lmao.
Maybe i'm being dramatic, and there are fixes for all of these issues, or I simply don't know anything about Laptops, but it does suck.
Are these issues all fixable ? Or should I return it ? And if I do, do you guys know a model with similar specs that doesnt have these types of issues ? Thank you.
