2001 Ford Ranger XLT slight jolt when letting off gas on freeway — bad engine mounts or drivetrain issue?
I have a 2001 Ford Ranger XLT and I’ve noticed a slight jolt/clunk feeling when driving on the freeway. It mainly happens when I’m on the gas and then let off the throttle. It almost feels like something shifts or “goes back into place.”
It’s not super harsh or loud, but definitely noticeable through the truck. No major shaking, just a small jolt during the transition from acceleration to coasting.
I also already know my engine mounts need to be replaced. Could bad engine mounts cause this kind of feeling?
