Switching from isese to lucumi
I’ve been part of an isese ile since 2020 but I had a lot of difficulty professing in the tradition and feeing connected to the practice because I lived on the opposite coast from my ile. Every ceremony was done virtually and I didn’t know many people in my ile personally. After a lot of agonizing I decided to purse an ile closer to me so that I could get more hands on learning and build community with fellow devotees. Where I live there are far more lucumi iles so I opted to join a lucumi ile that was recommended to me by a friend. I’ve heard of a lot of folks going from lucumi to isese but so far I haven’t met anyone who’s gone from isese to lucumi. Does anyone have advice on transitioning to lucumi from isese? Any thoughts on retaining my isese practices for my isese shrines while adopting lucumi practices for any new shrines I receive ?
