Do Olofin and Odu function as the same thing even though they have different foundations? How do they differ?

I generally work my warriors on Monday’s (Elegua, Ogun and Ochosi). Osun however, I’ve read that he’s generally done on days when I work with my hand of ifa orunmila. Could an experienced Santero or Ifaniya or Babalawo explain the proper way to work with my Osun warrior?

So I’m new WITHIN the religion but I’m not new to it. While I know a LOT I’m aware I don’t know it all.

Recently, a family member has been going in real heavy with the religion, like its their entire personality and they don’t do anything else anymore. Every facet of them is Lucumi.

They’re ex Christian. Came into Santeria out of fear and just kind of being spooked / scared. They have a history of attaching themselves to different religions and spiritual practices and escalating fast. (Pentecostal, Methodist, Islam, agnostic, Reiki, meditation and crystals, now Santeria, but this has definitely stuck)

Thats just some background for understanding.

I am very concerned that a loved one is going to go into some sort of religious psychosis or breakdown

They’ve been doing this weird laugh around the house. After they had an emotional moment about the religion, they were talking to themselves like “oh wow WHEW I’m so confused” “oh ooo I almost lost it there, haha! lol!”

And it’s just making multiple ppl uncomfortable, even another Santera.

The laugh is like: “hehehe.” then flat face…hehehe.…flat face.

It sounds like a witch or baby laugh.

This went on for like 5-10 minutes, twice in one day…conveniently amongst other people.

I asked her if she should go lay down or go to their room while I handle the food, and they ignored me and continued their laugh and just stopped. I did not give them anymore attention neither did anyone else. If you’re having a moment, why not go have that in private?

I overheard her say it was the spirit of Elegua because he’s a jokester and playful…

But she was just randomly crying and started laughing with a straight face????

The 1st time they did this months ago, they kinda bragged about it like “oh madrina said I’d get my Oshun laugh since she’s my head orisha”

Funny how the laughing started only after she’s told she might get an “Oshun laugh”. 🤨

Elegua or Oshun..Which one is it????

I personally have never really heard of this or have seen this behavior and I’m afraid that this person is moments away from going into some sort of religious psychosis. It’s just weird behavior to me. It’s LITERALLY like Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde.

And I know this religion and our spirit guides and things are extremely powerful. I know. But this just seems a bit odd and/or performative.

If this is a real thing then I’ll proudly stand corrected but I just wanna know.

my partner and I share a home and when we purchased our home he at that time had his mom's ashes amd my son has his father's my son still lives with me so naturally they are in our home as well. but my partners father practiced santeria and was fighting his on demons in life. he forb8d my entry to his home . he amd his wife both alcoholics tried to come between me amd my partner but I just stood quiet s8nce this was his family. now his father when he passed without asking g me how I felt he just brought them home, in addition to some drums he used etc.

I mentioned my feelings to my partner who became extremely upset.

I feel like our basement is a cemetery but having a person who didn't want me in life in our home who in life never came over either to now be here I death???

am I crazy to think its his father's presence or even those drums or both

he refuses to let go is there something I can do to bless my home or protect our peace we once had
