Curious if anyone knows somewhere in Illinois where I can surrender my family’s soft shelled turtle?I believe she is a Florida soft shelled turtle and is getting too larger for her tank and my family can’t provide a proper tank set up for her size. I would love for her to go to a sanctuary where they can provide her a larger stock tank or pond area for her to thrive in. Please let me know if anyone has suggestions!!
Hi there, I’ve had a Florida soft shelled turtle for around 4 years now. We continue to get larger tanks for her as she grows and she’s quite large now with a 75 gallon tank. My question is knowing she’s going to keep growing depending on her tank what’s the best upgrade option for this animal. My family thinks we should get a larger glass tank but I disagree and think she needs either a larger stock tank or we should give her to a sanctuary. She isn’t mine to decide on but I understand how expensive it is to upgrade and work it must be. I’m an animals advocate and would love to know what you all think the best way to go about this decision!
If you think we could get a larger tank what’s the best kind of set up and size tank we should get? I believe she’s between 7-9 inches(not quite sure)
