My longtime abuser was my older brother and we have been no contact for 14 years. He is still heavily using drugs and alcohol and to my complete panic he just left me a voicemail earlier (again after zero contact for 14 years) today on my work phone number- (all my personal information is clean off the internet) and in the message is threatening me and demanding I call him - sounding very angry. Last I knew he was living in Hawaii and I am all the way over on the East Coast. I would really love to find out that he is still in Hawaii so that I can feel a little safer. I have no intention of returning this person‘s phone call or having them engage in my life, but I am really feeling like I need the reassurance of knowing he is not on the mainland and is going to pop up at my door. This is something he did in the long time past and one of the reasons I’m so frightened right now - it nearly resulted in my death at his hands if a neighbor didn’t intervene and it’s the worst
Moment of my whole life. I’m very scared for myself but even more because I have two small children and I live alone.
Is there any legal way to do this? Or is it only the police that can figure this stuff out? An app or service I can pay to tell me where the phone call was placed geographically?
