Added aftermarket amp & sub to a 2025 LR RWD
Spent the past weekend installing an aftermarket amp + 10” sub into my 2025 Premium LR RWD, this was my first time wiring a sub + amp so I spent some time doing some research across Reddit/YT/teslamotorsclub before getting started.
Main equipment:
- Alpine S2-A60M amplifier
- JL Audio W0v3-4 10” Subwoofer
- Kicker KeyLoc DSP
- Skar Tesla Sub Enclosure (says it’s not for highland but it fits fine)
I’m getting power from the DC-DC converter under the rear seats, for audio I’m tapping into the front right door speaker via the FR kick panel, remote turn on for the 10s delay timer that turns on the relay is tapped into a wire close by which receives power when a door is open or someone is inside, turns off after about 30 seconds when the cars locked and empty. There’s also a 200W 4ohm resistor to allow some power to flow into the amp’s capacitors before the relay turns on after the 10 seconds. Finally ran the bass knob and a switch for the remote trigger for the timer/relay into the center console so it was hidden away.
Everything is working great very happy with the results for ~$750!
